Posh Country

Posh Country

The Spirit of Ecstasy, the hood ornament of Rolls-Royce cars.
On what I’m guessing was a… 1965 car, parked in the country town I visited today.
I find it very hard to pick the year of Rolls-Royces, as they retained classic design elements decades after other brands had ditched them in the quest for modernity and “improvements”.
An interesting history behind this sculpture:

  1. Oh my! I wonder what that spectacular Rolls Royce was doing in a little country town in Canterbury, New Zealand? Maybe a profitable farmer had always wised for one, and finally, his dream had come true.!? The Rolls Royce Sculpture is great plus, isn’t it.
